Dozens of sharks wash up on beach in storms

More than 50 small sharks were found washed up on a beach in South Wales over the bank holiday weekend.

Laura Campbell made the discovery on Rhossili beach on the Gower Peninsula near Swansea while on a camping holiday with her boyfriend.

The 24-year-old told the BBC her find was “shocking”, adding: “We saw sharks every metre or so. I think there were more than 50 in total.”

Natural Resources Wales confirmed it was aware of what happened and said the shark may have been brought in by recent stormy weather. Swansea Council is investigating.

It is thought the creatures were small-spotted catsharks.
