Court overturns decision on same-sex marriage

A Hong Kong court has ruled that the husband of a male civil servant was not entitled to spousal benefits, in a setback for LGBT advocates in the city.

Judge Jeremy Poon ruled that Hong Kong laws do not recognise same-sex marriages, so the benefits for medical and dental care which they were previously granted would be revoked.
