BBC can change the face of cities, says Lord Hall
The BBC brings more to the communities across the UK than just programmes and broadcasting, Lord Hall is to say.
The corporation’s director-general will talk about the contribution the BBC has made to Manchester, Cardiff and Hull as he addresses the Prospect National Conference in Birmingham today.
Using BBC North at Salford Quays as an example, he will say “within a few years our activities in the north were worth more than £275 million each year to the UK economy, not to mention more jobs, training and skills for the region”.
