What could be nicer in early June, when gardens across the country are at their most beautiful, than listening to Sharon Cooke, director of the Andromeda Botanical Gardens in Barbados, and Sandra Pella, Head Gardener at the Toronto Botanical Garden, describe their work? They reflect on why most volunteer gardeners tend to be women, while most professionals are men.
