Heartburn warning Aspirin a day cuts throat cancer risk

Heartburn sufferers should be taking daily aspirin to guard against cancer, a British study has found. The results showed that taking it with an anti-acid reflux medicine reduced the risk by 20 per cent. People living with Barrett’s oesophagus, a condition associated with acid reflux, are 50 times more likely to develop throat cancer. Researchers analysed 2,500 patients with Barrett’s over nearly nine years.
