 This harrowing HBO drama about sexual abuse and the stories that victims construct in order to survive was widely praised when it premiered at Sundance earlier this year. Laura Dern stars as Jenny, who’s forced in maturity to confront the possibility that what she remembers as her first teenage “relationship” was, in fact, a case of grooming and rape by a predatory older couple. Based on writer Jennifer Fox’s own experiences, the difficult subject matter is handled with subtly, sensitivity and power. GO
