A Lidl can add a lot to your house value

-

♦ Living near a budget supermarket boosts your house price by up to 15 per cent, a study has found.

House prices near budget retailers such as Aldi and Lidl have surged in recent years, according to an analysis by Lloyds Banks. Properties close to Lidl, Aldi, Morrisons and Asda have typically increased by 15pc (£29,316) in value over the past four years.

Despite that rapid price uplift, the report found that the “Waitrose effect” still commands the biggest house price premium in cash terms. Homes in the same postal district as a Waitrose cost £43,571 more.
