Moment of impact
A Palestinian man was on life support in a Gaza hospital yesterday after a tear-gas canister, fired by an Israeli soldier, struck him in the face and was embedded in his cheek. The projectile hit Haitham Abu Sabla as he watched Palestinian stonethrowers demonstrate near Khan Younis town, Gaza, witnesses said. A hospital official said the 23-year-old was placed on life support after the canister was surgically removed. At least three people, including a teenage boy, were killed in the protests while more than 600 were hurt, Gaza officials said.
