-

Two men were killed yesterday in a light aircraft crash in South Wales.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch confirmed it was making inquiries after the plane went down near the village of Raglan in Monmouthshire at about 11.15am.

Gwent Police said two men were pronounced dead at the scene and that their relatives had been informed.

Roads around the crash site remained closed last night.

Jan Cooke, a local resident, told the BBC: “We saw a light aircraft come over here. The engine was very quiet and slow and the next thing we knew the engine stopped.”
