Merkel’s party demands strict immigration rules
German chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservatives called yesterday for stricter immigration rules and faster deportation of failed asylum seekers after a 14-year old German girl was allegedly raped and killed by an Iraqi.
Iraqi police said on Saturday the 20-year-old suspect, Ali Bashar, had admitted murdering Susanna Feldman in Germany and had been extradited.
“The procedures and rules for asylum, refuge and integration must be put under scrutiny,” said Christian Baldauf, conservative leader in the parliament of Rhineland-palatinate.
