Students driven to tears by exam allowed resit

-

University students are being allowed to resit an exam in advanced cognitive and biological psychology after several were reported to have been “reduced to tears” and left the room when the “sleep” topic did not come up.

“The disruption came because the exam had four potential topics, but only three questions. This meant that one of the topics would not come up,” said one student. A tutor had hinted that sleep was “definitely going to come up”, he claimed, and some “only revised sleep. People were clearly distressed with many crying about it”.

Bath Spa University said the resit offer was due to the resulting “disturbance” and was “appropriate”.
