Dixons in the dock over huge data hack
A massive data breach at Dixons Carphone went undetected for nearly a year, despite the company promising regulators it had bolstered its IT systems. The electricals retailer revealed that 5.9million customer bank card details and 1.2 million personal data records had been accessed by a computer virus in the systems of Currys PC World and Dixons Travel stores. The hack happened in July last year, but was only discovered last week.
