Swingers’ club can go at it seven days a week

‘It’s a nice open environment where people can meet. Surely everybody deserves to relax and feel happy?’

A CLUB for swingers has been granted permission to open every day after its membership complained it was difficult to get babysitters at the weekend.

Purple Mamba, which describes itself as “a private club for liberated adults”, was previously only open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The club in West Bridgford, Notts, opened in March and is run by Amanda Carroll and her business partner, Christopher Mould. “People kept asking us ‘can you open midweek because we can’t get babysitters’… so it’s a practical reason,” she said.

Mr Mould said: “There’s a vast demand for what we’re doing – in the world we have today, it provides a very nice, open environment in which people can meet. Surely everybody deserves to relax and feel happy?”

Several residents cited concerns about noise and parking and complained they had witnessed anti-social behaviour in the streets outside the club, but Purple Mamba denied the issues were connected to the club.

Rushcliffe borough council decided to approve seven-day opening, but said that the situation would be monitored for the first year. A spokesman said one of the conditions of permission was no outdoor use after 11pm.
