Saudi sports chief rants at players after 5-0 loss
Saudi Arabia’s sports authority chief has said the national team put in “less than five per cent effort” in their 5-0 defeat to hosts Russia.
In a video posted on his Twitter account, Turki al-sheikh apologised for the side’s performance in the World Cup’s opening game at the Luzhniki Stadium on Thursday.
“We’ve done everything we could for the national team players,” he said. “They’ve blackened my face.”
