Greeks come bearing rifts over Macedonia

Greeks opposed to their government giving official consent to the name Republic of Macedonia for its neighbouring country began three days of protests yesterday as the parliament in Athens prepared to weather a vote of no confidence.

Priests and MPS from a neo-nazi party protested with a few hundred supporters, complaining that the name Macedonia can apply only to Greeks.
