Burning issue of the Czech president’s pants

Milos Zeman, the Czech president, summoned reporters yesterday to watch two firemen burn a huge pair of red underpants. Czech media said the boxer shorts in question had been hoisted by activists in 2015, replacing the flag on Prague Castle. The red pants were meant to represent Mr Zeman’s close ties with Russia and China and have become a symbol for criticism of him.
