EU green lights Comcast’s Sky bid

Comcast has been given unconditional approval to buy pay-tv operator Sky by EU antitrust regulators, which found there were no competition concerns with the deal. The approval by the European Commission comes just days after Comcast submitted a formal offer for the entertainment assets of 21st Century Fox, including the 39pc stake it holds in Sky, in a bid to trump an offer from Disney.
