Man dies after van hits crowd at music festival

One man was killed and three people were seriously injured when a van was driven into pedestrians near a Dutch campsite at a music festival.

The incident happened at around 4am yesterday, hours after Bruno Mars, the American pop star, performed at the three-day Pinkpop Festival in the southern town of Landgraaf, near the German border. The van then sped away and a 34-year-old man later gave himself up and was arrested in Amsterdam.

Two men and a woman are “very critically ill” in hospital, police said.
