Sniffing lunch

A grass snake swims through a pond on the lookout for frogs and small fish to eat, using its forked tongue to smell the air. Jack Perks, a wildlife photographer, submerged himself in the pond at Ellicar Gardens, Notts with a waterproof camera to capture the image. He said he had dreamed for years of taking such a shot of the nonvenomous snake.
