Carry on cavorting, Beyoncé!

What would Beyoncé do? Stop! There’s no need to answer, it’s a purely rhetorical question.

Think of it as more of a statement of intent than an admission of weakness – Girl Power for the 21st century, if you will, m’lud.

When young women get in a bit of a fix over a boy, the sudden loss of Wi-fi or Rihanna throwing shade, and they cry, “What would Beyoncé do?”, they are asserting their intention to jolly well buck up and engage in some kick-ass action.

So what should the actual Beyoncé have done when she saw her six-yearold daughter, Blue Ivy, pulling a disgusted face and hiding her eyes at sexy footage of her parents cavorting? Blue Ivy was allowed to stay up late and attend a London concert by Beyoncé and Mr Beyoncé (oh, all right, Jay-z).

Their firstborn was clearly mortified by the lovingly intimate scenes projected on to a screen at the back of the stage.

I’d like to think the singer wondered “What would Beyoncé do?”… and just kept going with even more panache. I know it’s what I’d do.
