Nazi silverware

-

Hitler’s cutlery has been sold for £12,500 after going under the hammer, despite many auction houses refusing to sell Nazi memorabilia – although it is legal to do so. A set of swastikaemblazoned silverware made to celebrate the Nazi leader’s 50th birthday was sold to one online buyer yesterday after being found in a house clearance in Dorset, having belonged to a senior military officer. An official at Charterhouse Auctioneers in Sherborne said the items, which had been expected to fetch £2,000, “were not to everyone’s taste”.
