‘Roseanne’ TV spin-off will not include its star

The US television network ABC has announced it will launch a spin-off of the Roseanne series without Roseanne Barr, who was dropped this month after she tweeted a racist comment about a former White House aide.

Barr, the show’s creator and leading actress, will have no financial or creative involvement in the show.

However, many of the original cast will remain in their roles for the new 10-episode series, tentatively called The Conners.
