- Badger cull

A May 28 article stated incorrectl­y that more than 19,200 badgers were culled last year, “down from 39,364 in 2016”. The latter figure was in fact the number of cattle compulsori­ly slaughtere­d in 2016 due to bovine tuberculos­is. Last year 19,274 badgers were culled, an increase on the 10,886 in 2016. We apologise for the confusion.
