Corrections and clarifications
A May 28 article stated incorrectly that more than 19,200 badgers were culled last year, “down from 39,364 in 2016”. The latter figure was in fact the number of cattle compulsorily slaughtered in 2016 due to bovine tuberculosis. Last year 19,274 badgers were culled, an increase on the 10,886 in 2016. We apologise for the confusion.
