Germany to deport ‘bin Laden’s bodyguard’
A suspected Islamist radical who allegedly served as Osama bin Laden’s bodyguard is set to be deported from Germany where he has been living for two decades.
The 41-year-old, who is being referred to as Sami A, arrived on a student visa in 1997 with his family.
He has claimed he would be tortured in his Tunisian homeland if he returned. A German tabloid recently reported that he was receiving welfare benefits in Germany despite being classed as a potential terror threat by intelligence agencies.
