Pursuit of Beauty: Drawing on Water

We often talk about great art as something that endures, but there is a growing trend for celebrating the ephemeral in art, and creating works that have to be enjoyed in the moment or missed forever. This thoughtful programme considers art that by its very nature is about disappearance, formed on beaches in eroding tides, made with material set to decompose, or deliberately destroyed after its creation. It’s art that “begins as an idea and ends as a memory” – quite an inspiring concept, really.
