Call to act on MPS’ private sector jobs
MINISTERS and senior officials are “squeamish” about improving the scrutiny of post-government appointments because they themselves will be moving into the private sector, a senior Tory MP has said.
Acoba, a Whitehall committee, has been criticised as toothless after allowing hundreds of ministers to pick up lucrative private sector jobs.
Bernard Jenkin, a Tory MP and public administration committee chairman, said public confidence was being eroded by the committee’s failure to take action.
