We’d rather Disney princess was fat than gay, says poll

BRITISH people are not ready for a gay Disney princess, a poll has found.

The survey was commissioned by Yougov following speculation that Frozen 2, the sequel to the Disney musical, could feature a lesbian as its main character.

According to Yougov, only 49 per cent of respondents say they would be “comfortable” with Disney creating a lesbian princess, with 34 per cent uncomfortable and 17 per cent unsure.

But the poll also found that 52 per cent of people would be comfortable with an overweight princess.

It would not be the first time Disney had featured a gay character – last year’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast prompted controversy for depicting the character Lefou as gay.
