‘Love Island’ thongs ban on swimmers
SWIMMERS are scaring children by wearing skimpy Love Island thongs, a familyfriendly pool has warned.
Staff at Jubilee Park, Lincs, have asked customers to stop wearing the revealing garments as they are inappropriate for children to see.
A since-deleted post on the pool’s Instagram account said: “We’re fully aware it’s OK to wear thongs on Love Island, but not in a familyfriendly facility like ours.”
Joe Stanhope, pool manager, said the yearly phenomenon, which coincides with the risqué ITV2 show, has been labelled the “Love Island effect”.
