Johansson: no ‘audition’ to go out with Cruise

SCARLETT JOHANSSON has denied “demeaning” claims that she “auditioned” to be the girlfriend of Tom Cruise, after a former Scientologist said she was among a number of women shortlisted for the position.

Brendan Tighe, who used to work as a security guard for the church, gave an interview in which he spoke about his time with Cruise, the most high-profile member of the Scientologist church.

Johansson has denied Tighe’s claims, saying: “The very idea of any person auditioning to be in a relationship is so demeaning … I [have] the integrity to choose my own relationships.”

Tighe gave an interview to NBC and in it discussed reports of “auditions” to find Cruise’s new girlfriend. Tighe claimed that an audition took place with Johansson, but it “didn’t go well” because she wasn’t interested.

He also alleged it was this method that led to Cruise embarking upon a relationship with Katie Holmes.
