Company pulls the plug on landline phones
The end of the landline appears to be nigh after an accountancy giant decided that all staff should now use only mobile phones.
PWC is doing away with landlines at office desks, expecting its 18,000 staff to use the “more efficient” mobile phones by the end of the summer.
In 2010, UK business had more than 10million landline numbers. But this fell 35 per cent by 2017, according to telecoms watchdog Ofcom.
