BHP agrees to $211m in Samarco rehabilitation

BHP Billiton is paying out a total of $211m (£160m) to fund remediation and compensation programmes in relation to the Samarco dam disaster in 2015 that killed 19 people. BHP earlier this week struck a deal with prosecutors in Brazil to pause compensation claims arising from the catastrophe.
