PELVIS
Williams kept training far into her pregnancy – up to eight months by some accounts – in order to mitigate the deconditioning that would have occurred. That is not to say she did not have to change the exercises she was doing. First of all, as her baby bump grew bigger, she would have had to alter some of the exercises just to accommodate the change in shape or the change in range and mobility. She also had to avoid exercises that would activate her pelvic floor muscles too much. No doubt since returning to training, she has re-strengthened those pelvic floor muscles which have changed.
