One of a pair of George III sofas, each with an estimate of £2-3million, which feature in a Christie’s sale in London on Thursday to mark the 300th anniversary of the birth of Thomas Chippendale. Designed by Robert Adam, the sofas were made by Chippendale for Sir Lawrence Dundas in 1765.
