Trudeau denies groping woman at 2000 festival

Justin Trudeau, the Canadian prime minister, yesterday denied claims he groped a journalist during a music festival nearly two decades ago.

The avowed feminist said he does not recall any “negative interactions” on the day in question. The alleged incident is said to have happened in the western city of Creston, British Columbia in 2000. He told reporters he remembered the day well, as it was a charity event to support avalanche safety as his brother died in one in 1998.
