 This smart, acid adaptation of Henry James’s short novel about a child of warring parents is set in present-day New York, where pixie-ish six-year-old Maisie (Onata Aprile) gets overlooked in the selfish squabbling between her parents: Julianne Moore, a rock singer with a flagging career, and Steve Coogan, a shallow art dealer. When he marries the nanny, she retaliates by marrying a barman. Accomplished and engaging.
