Mordaunt first minister to use sign language

Penny Mordaunt, the Women and Equalities Minister, has made history by becoming the first to use sign language to make a statement from the House of Commons despatch box.

Ms Mordaunt used international signing to promote a global disability conference being hosted by the Government later this month.

Speaker John Bercow responded, also signing, “that is good news”.
