Corbyn calls for holiday if the Cup comes home

Jeremy Corbyn has called for a new bank holiday if England emulate the heroes of 1966 and win the World Cup.

A Labour spokesman said that a national holiday should be held in recognition “of the importance of football in this country”, and added that any bank holiday would cover the whole of the UK, and not just England.
