Chequers showdown

-

SIR – Theresa May’s administration has progressed from blunder to blunder, with each being followed by the assurance that she is the one person able to fix it.

She is now stridently threatening to sack those who believed her, if they object to her latest fix: the loss of our national self determination, the core of what Brexit voted to regain. Her historical legacy is already toxic. Tim Bradshaw

SIR – I was amused by a tweet from Christopher Hope, your Chief Political Correspondent, about his wife being prepared to provide a taxi service from Chequers for Cabinet ministers who resign and immediately lose their ministerial cars.

If there is insufficient room in Mrs Hope’s car, I will happily drive a minibus to pick up ex-ministers who believe that Brexit means Brexit. Cllr David Evans
