Equal attraction
SIR – We read that “conversion therapy” is to be banned and any doctors practising it will be struck off (report, July 3). This is apparently on the grounds that faith groups have pressurised some gay people to “cure” them, as they see it.
Where does that leave the individual unattached to a church or any religion and uninfluenced by either? We are told constantly that a young person born with one sexual anatomy has the right to change to the opposite. What about the young man or woman who is attracted to their own sex but who would genuinely prefer not to be?
