‘Unknown substance’ kills Cornish schoolgirl

A 15-year-old who died after taking an “unknown substance” has been named locally as Shakira Pellow.

She was found collapsed in Camborne on Friday night by ambulance crews and taken to Treliske hospital in Truro.

Police said the condition of another 15-year-old girl who was taken to hospital in a serious condition has “improved”.

Locals said the area where the children were hanging out had a “drugs problem” and said neighbours had heard the group had “taken ecstasy”.
