‘Inspirational’ builder fights demolition

♦ A builder praised by Grand Designs host Kevin Mccloud has been told to tear down his “holistic” eco-home.

Eddie Mcintosh, 52, faces a legal battle to save a wooden classroom and cabins on a 12-acre farm at Llandegley, near Llandrindod Wells, Wales.

Mr Mcintosh, whose work was hailed “an inspiration” by Mr Mccloud on Man Made Home, began developing his holistic retreat 12 years ago.

But Powys County Council claims they were put up without permission – and wants him to get rid of them. Mr Mcintosh appeared before magistrates in Llandrindod Wells to deny breaching enforcement notices. His trial will be held at Llandrindod Wells magistrates’ court on Aug 31.
