Widely considered by directors, film buffs and bearded art students to be one of the greatest movies ever made (even the Vatican likes it), Federico Fellini’s meta exploration of film-making isn’t always easy viewing but it’s an absolute essential. A film director (Marcello Mastroianni) retreats to a spa to escape from creative block and marital strife. The title refers to it being Fellini’s eighth and a half film as director.
