BBC revamps its politics output in youth push
The BBC is dumping the Daily Politics and Sunday Politics shows in favour of a modern alternative that it hopes will attract the young social media-savvy generation. It is also ditching some BBC Parliament channel shows.
Politics Live will, it says, be a “fastmoving, conversational show featuring interviews, discussion and video content designed to be shared digitally” but it will continue to be presented by Andrew Neil, 69, and Jo Coburn, 50.
BBC Parliament will broadcast live and replayed coverage of debates, but will no longer make programmes and will not air when MPS are not sitting.
Neil will present an extended Wednesday show to include PMQS.
