Wife of dying man wins sperm ruling

Sperm has been extracted from a dying man whose wife had been undergoing fertility treatment after a ruling by a judge in London.

Lawyers for the woman described Mrs Justice Gwynneth Knowles’s ruling at a hearing in the Court of Protection as “enlightened”.

The woman made the application on Thursday after her husband suffered a sudden and traumatic brain injury. He has now died.
