Police called to Becker’s home over domestic incident

- By Patrick Sawer

POLICE were called to the home of Boris Becker after a reported dispute between the three-times Wimbledon champion and his estranged wife.

Officers visited the £5 million home, a short drive from the grounds of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, at 10pm on Wednesday following the dispute, thought to have involved Lilly Becker, 41, a Dutch-born model.

They returned on Thursday, a short while before Becker, 50, was seen leaving the house with a large bag over his shoulder, according to the German newspaper Bild. The couple, who have an eight-year-old son, Amadeus, announced in May that they were divorcing after nine years of marriage.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers visited the home in Wimbledon, south-west London, for a “domestic incident”. It added no one was arrested but that advice, thought to concern behaviour and possible legal consequences, had been given.

Becker refused to comment yesterday. Last night he appeared as normal in his role as a pundit for BBC One’s Wimbledon coverage.
