Chicago police say man shot by officers had gun

Footage from body cameras and surveillance cameras shows that a man who was shot and killed by a Chicago police officer was armed with what appears to be a handgun, a police spokesman said yesterday.

The shooting sparked clashes between residents and baton-wielding officers.

Four protesters were arrested and some police officers were injured by thrown rocks and bottles, some of which were filled with urine. Two squad cars were also damaged.
