The Reith Lectures
RADIO 4, 9.00AM
This year’s Reith Lectures, titled The Mark of Cain and on the topic of war, are given by Professor Margaret Macmillan of the University of Toronto. They continue to be equally compelling and terrifying. This week, Professor Macmillan is speaking at the Northern Irish Parliament Buildings at Stormont in Belfast and focuses on examples of how people and nations in history, particularly Britain and Ireland, have sought to justify their involvement in wars. Anita Anand presents the programme and chairs a question-and-answer session after the lecture.
