High and dry

As the heatwave rolls on, this picture of London’s Hyde Park and surrounding streets shows the grass is well and truly parched. The city has so far escaped a hosepipe ban, with the North West the first UK region to be hit, although Thames Water has warned there is no guarantee that the capital will not face similar restrictions.
