Salute to Mandela
Zamaswazi Dlamini-mandela, the granddaughter of Nelson Mandela, wipes away tears during a service to mark the centenary of the birth of the former South African president at Westminster Abbey in London. A memorial stone to the late antiapartheid revolutionary, designed and cut by Nicholas Sloan and encircled with “Forgiveness” and “Reconciliation”, was dedicated in the nave of the abbey. The service was conducted by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Rev Dr John Hall, with an address by Nomatemba Tambo, High Commissioner for South Africa.
