Hungary to withdraw from UN migration pact
Hungary said yesterday that it was withdrawing from a UN pact on migration, saying that the global deal encouraged movements of people that were “dangerous for the world”.
The Global Compact for Migration, the final text for which was backed last week by UN member states after 18 months of negotiations, pledges to boost co-operation in addressing the world’s growing flows of migrants.
Hungary follows the United States, which withdrew in December 2017.
